Dawn Van Halst
Senior Brownfield Consultant
Dawn Van Halst serves as the Senior Brownfield Consultant for the firm. Her primary responsibilities are to prepare brownfield plans, Act 381 Work Plans, grants/loans, and other development incentive applications. Other responsibilities Include the evaluation of redevelopment scenarios, financial gap analysis and project proforma development. She oversees the progression of brownfield projects including implementation of due care obligations and documentation of eligible activities. She also assists with the implementation and management of US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Brownfield Grants and Loans, as well as providing support to assist with our business development efforts in the Brownfield Services Group. She works with clients to ensure we can meet their redevelopment project goals.
Dawn has more than 17 years of community and economic development experience working with government agencies, developers, real estate professionals, and community partners focusing on the unique challenges of revitalizing distressed areas to create vibrant sustainable developments and communities.
Dawn holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Community Relations and Political Science from Michigan State University. She is a Michigan native and currently resides in Mason with her husband and son.
